holly and tom are engaged!

i work with holly at oakland university and she asked me if i would like to take her engagement photos. well first of all, congratulations!! and second of all, of course i would!

this couple is so great together - you can tell how well they get along just be being around them for about five minutes. i had such a great time capturing these photos at the meadowbrook historic site, even if we got kicked out in out first attempt! i think our backup plan worked so beautifully - just like that humungous ring!!

not long after was i asked if i would also like to capture their wedding day in october, to which i also agreed without hesitation. it's going to be so great!

the LEAN project

you want strength? head to LEAN in alma, michigan! this group really knows how to break a sweat. its owner, kris, was looking for a way to spruce up advertising for the gym so i was happy to help with some fresh images! we wanted to really show case the "group" aspect of this group fitness-based gym, and i think we did it! kris is so amazingly strong and incredibly passionate about helping people to better health - it's so contagious! these people work do hard every time they hit the gym, even if sometimes that means hitting a field out in the hot, hot sun!

too bad i was taking photos - i could have had one killer workout!

how sweet it was to be able to see this couple from engagement to marriage - this maryland wedding was nothing short of perfect. from the venue to the ceremony and reception, everything about this day was exactly how the merians wanted it! i can't explain how special i felt to be a part of this day - the family flew me out there just to capture their story! for my first time in maryland, it was certainly one i won't soon forget!
